Drinkware Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)



Camera ready artwork is defined as black and white color separated positive image with clean sharp lines that
does not require any alterations. Photocopies, faxed art, sketches, stationary, business cards and other imprinted products are not considered camera ready and may be subject to an art charge. Art will be charged at an hourly rate of $20.00. Art will be quoted before production begins. Art size and placement will be at the discretion of the Art Department.


There will be  no typesetting charge for all straight-line copy, up to three straight lines. Unless otherwise specified, typestyle is at the discretion of the factory.

electronic art

Artwork may be provided on CD-ROM or via email. Files must be vector format with all fonts converted
to outlines, curves or paths. Bitmap files will require an art charge.

Artwork containing halftones must be supplied to size with all halftones at 60 line screen or dots per inch.

cancellations and changes

gotDrinkware reserves the right to commence production upon receipt of the order. Customer will be required to
pay for all work completed at the time of cancellation. Any changes requested after artwork has been prepared
for production may incur additional artwork charges. All cancellations and changes to any pending order
must be submitted in writing.

care instructions

BPA free bottles

  • These bottles are Bisphenol A (BPA) free
  • Constructed in China using material made in the USA
  • High quality copolyester bottle material is shatterproof and break resistant
  • Stain resistant plastic
  • In hot climates - do not leave in the car
  • Do not microwave
  • Hand wash only

change of color

$20.00 per color. Must be in full case quantities.


All claims other than those involving freight carriers must be made within 10 days of receipt of merchandise.
No returns will be accepted without prior written consent of factory. No merchandise will be accepted for return
after being altered, or otherwise used. Factory disclaims any responsibility for goods after 30 days in
buyer's possession..

copy changes

There will be a $20.00 charge for all copy changes up to three lines. If four or more lines are changed new screen charges will apply and will be invoiced accordingly. Changes in copy may affect ship date.

drop or split shipments

Drop or split shipments are billed at $7.00 per drop ship location after the first shipment. Drop ship list must

freight equalization program

All shipments are F.O.B. factory, California. Freight savings are now available from Atlanta, Dallas, Indianapolis,
Philadelphia and Seattle. Freight charges for orders shipped to the 48 Contiguous United States
(excludes shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico), will be pro-rated as if shipped from these points.
GROUND FREIGHT. Shipment must be made using gotDrinkware shipper number, third party billing is excluded. International, air shipments or freight carriers not recognized by gotDrinkware as a part of this program are excluded. Drop shipments and premier packaging are excluded.

gift and mailer boxes

Gift and mailer boxes are available for most items. Allow additional production time of 1-3 days. Specify
gift or mailer.

imprint colors

gotDrinkware offers a variety of glass, ceramic, and organic inks. PMS colors are paper colors and will be used
as reference only. Due to the nature of ceramics, glass, and the firing process, absolute exact matches cannot
be guaranteed. A pre-production proof is strongly recommended when imprint colors are critical.

imprint size and position

Order must clearly specify if artwork is one side, two sides, opposite the handle, or wraparound. Order must also clearly state if artwork is to exact size, or should be enlarged or reduced. In the absence of these instructions we will use our own discretion. If specific instructions for art size and location are not clearly stated, no claims will be processed. Imprint locations are defined as follows:


When orders are manufactured to customer's specifications, the customer shall hold gotDrinkware harmless
from any liability for patent or copyright infringements, proprietary rights violations, invasion of privacy or other personal rights violations. All material submitted by the customer for use by the factory to produce items ordered will be considered by the factory to be in full compliance with all applicable laws in regards to trademark, service mark, copyright, patent, or similar protection.

less than minimum (ltm)

Orders for LTM must be at least half of 1st column quantity. A $50.00 LTM charge will be incurred in addition to
normal screen charges.

Additional packaging: Ceramic or Glass

Additional packaging is required for any ceramic or glass orders shipping via parcel service carriers
(UPS, FedEx, DHL). The cost is $5 to $7 per carton depending on specific item.

nature of ceramics and glassware

Due to the inherent nature of ceramics and the properties of glassware produced by foreign and domestic manufacturers, there may be slight imperfections and irregularities which should not be perceived as defective. Variations in materials, firing temperatures and color pigments may result in variations in glaze and imprint colors. Ounces, sizes, and measurements are approximate and may vary from batch to batch, and within each batch. These variations are within industry standard and therefore must be considered acceptable.

Non-imprinted merchandise

Catalog end quantity price less $.40. Case quantity required.


To ensure that your order will be expedited as quickly as possible and to ensure that all ship dates will be met,
please be specific on your orders. Please include item number, quantity, imprint color(s) and location, complete shipping information, and any other information relative to your order. Unless otherwise specified, factory reserves the right to select fonts and rearrange copy for best appearance or to meet product limitations. It is important that a ship date be included to expedite your order. gotDrinkware will only be responsible for meeting ship dates and cannot guarantee in-hands or special event dates due to carrier delays. Proofread all artwork for accuracy as factory will not be liable for errors in submitted artwork. On re-orders please include the previous invoice number as well as the month and year of the previous order. A brief description of the imprint is also helpful. Also specify if there will be color or copy changes. We cannot guarantee exact color matches on repeat orders due to reasons described in "Nature of Ceramics".

over/underrun policy

To maintain quality control, we reserve the right to ship up to 10% over or under the quantity ordered and bill accordingly. Orders which specify "exact quantity" will have that quantity only decorated and could result in an underrun after firing. This is industry standard and must be considered as fulfillment of the order.

PDF proofs

Initial PDF proof will be sent at no charge.
Subsequent paper proofs may incur additional charge of $15.00 each.

precious metals

For metallic gold, microwave safe gold, platinum, or microwave safe platinum imprint add $0.75 per side, and $1.50 for wraparound. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO REGULAR COLOR CHARGES. We reserve the right to change precious metal imprint prices at any time according to the current market conditions. Metallic inks require special care, and may wear off with dishwasher use.

Metallic gold, microwave safe gold, or platinum band add $1.50 each.
Metallic gold, microwave safe gold, or platinum halo add $.75 each.

production time

Standard production time is 7-10 working days from receipt of order and camera-ready artwork at factory. 
Any changes to an order in progress and/or art revisions will delay production and ship dates. Please allow
additional production and shipping time during the peak months of October through December as well as custom orders and orders requiring special packaging.

prop 65

Our products and inks do not contain chemical levels that are in excess of the "safe harbor" requirements
outlined in Prop 65. Therefore, Prop 65 labels are not necessary.

registration tolerance

Tolerance on multi-color tight registration artwork is 1/16". This tolerance is industry standard and must be considered acceptable.

rush service (paper insert tumblers can not be rushed)

5 DAY RUSH No additional charge during the months of January through September on orders of 1 or 2 imprint colors with camera ready artwork. Clearly indicate on your orders "5 Day Rush" to receive this service. Orders with 3 or more imprint colors, or orders placed during the peak months of October through December will incur an additional charge of $.50 / item.

Camera-ready art must be provided for all rush services. Purchase order and artwork must be received by
10:00am to ensure ship date. Rush services do not apply for paper insert tumblers and 4 color process orders.

sample services

  • speculative samples- $70.00 per color, up to 2 samples. Speculative samples may not be available in the
    peak months of October through December. Samples may vary slightly from entire production run.
  • pre-production samples- Pre-production proofs are available at $25.00 per color plus normal screen charges. Pre-production charge is waived on orders of quantities 576+ Changes in pre-production proof will result in additional screen charges. Orders canceled after submission of proof will be invoiced for pre-production proof, screen charges and any other applicable charges.

sales Taxes

Only California residents are subject to paying sales taxes unless you hold a valid resale permit, in which case we will require a signed resale certificate on file.

Out of state of California are not subject to sales tax.

Nonprofit sales tax exemption

Although many nonprofit and religious organizations are exempt from federal and state income tax, there is no similar broad exemption from California sales and use tax. The IRS states that state tax applies unless there is a specific legal exemption or exclusion.  click here for more information.


satin etch imprint

This imprint simulates an "etched" look and is considered a standard imprint color.

setup charges

$50.00 per color on initial order. Exact reorders within two years of previous order will not incur new screen charges. $80.00 for 4 color process paper inserts. $400.00 for direct print 4 color process.


All shipments will be sent prepaid unless otherwise specified. Freight estimates given by the factory are not
guaranteed and are subject to change without notice as rates can fluctuate. Special cartons to protect against
breakage are used and billed at $5.00-$7.00 per carton for all UPS, FEDEX, or any other air freight carrier shipments. Please state if you wish to use a specific carrier when ordering or factory will select the most economical house carrier. Title for goods passes to the buyer at F.O.B. point. All goods are shipped at the buyer's risk and all claims must be made with the freight carrier, normally within 14 days of receipt of merchandise. We do not insure on-time delivery or safe carriage of goods. Recourse rests exclusively with the transportation company. No adjustments will be given for any delayed or damaged shipments or for any other reason beyond factory control. No C.O.D., Parcel Post, or Priority Mail shipments.

inside and residential deliveries

Orders requiring inside or residential delivery must have this noted on the order. Deliveries beyond the
buyer's dock may be subject to an additional charge and will only be done at the customer's risk.
If an inside delivery is requested at the time of delivery, please be advised you may receive a subsequent invoice for this service in addition to your original invoice.


A 60% deposit is required to begin production, the balance shall be due and billed upon completion and shipment of your order. 
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express) and debit cards bearing the Visa or Master Card emblem. Please note credit/debit card payments are processed through Cross For You our parent company.

We also accept checks and money orders (please allow extra time for the mail and for checks to clear).
